The main energy associated with the hexagram 58 is Joy. The image that comes to mind is of bunch of kids playing together and enjoying themselves. They exhibit joy and happiness without any sense of worry or negativity. Kids seem to have that innate ability by which they are able to freely express without any doubtful feelings or calculated responses. We could say, that kids can be that way, since they don’t have jobs to do and companies to manage!
But there is much we can learn from them- this sense of unsullied joy allows kids to always be in a state of happy presence. As we all know, when we are happy, we exhibit our best side to the world and seem to get even tough things done very effortlessly and effectively. This is the power that this hexagram reminds us.
The changing line warns us that we need to be careful to not let any negative emotions rile us up. If you feel any start of anger, hurt or other negative emotion, then make sure you consciously let go of them otherwise they will ruffle up your feeling of peace and joy similar to how thunder ruffles up the surface of the lake (image for Hexagram 54: Careful Affection).
Meditation image for this week:
Meditate this week on being in your own element while also being part of a greater whole. How you can be happy while also accommodating others and ensuring their happiness. Basically how can you be a good member on this planet earth and also a great team player?
